Initial
Consultation
|
This first meeting provides an opportunity to discuss
both practical and aesthetic requirements, and for
the designer to consider the potential of the garden.
You can see a portfolio of plans
and photographs of previous projects. Following the
meeting, a brief will be provided together with a
schedule of costs for the subsequent stages. |
Site
survey and analysis |
The site survey involves measuring the house and boundaries
and any existing features which are to remain in the
garden. Level measurements are taken across sloping
sites. Photographs are taken
and a scale drawing produced on the computer as the
basis for subsequent plans.
|
Design
Drawings |
The design drawing shows the position of all the hard
landscaping – terraces, seating areas, paths
and steps together with any structures, such as summerhouses,
sheds, pergolas, water features and the outline positions
of the borders. Sketches and cross-sections may also
be provided. These drawings are reviewed and any alterations
made prior to producing any construction drawings.
Irrigation and Lighting plans may
also be required.

Planting
Plans |
The planting plan shows the position of each plant
within the garden. Trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs
are selected for their flower and foliage colour,
height and spread, seasonal interest as well as shape
and form. It depicts the optimum combination of shrubs
and perennials as well as the best balance between
evergreens and deciduous specimens.
The accompanying plant schedule shows
the botanical name, number and size of each plant
and forms the basis for obtaining prices from the
relevant nurseries. |
Construction |
Translating the plans into reality is an exciting
process. We are able to help select the best option
for the client.
Some people are happy to take on
the build themselves, whereas others employ their
own contractors or require help in selecting a landscaper.
We are able to accommodate all your requirements
Project management is also offered. |
Planting |
Once the garden is constructed, we supply and plant
the full range of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs.
For those clients who wish to be
involved with the planting, we arrange and oversee
delivery and set out the plants in position according
to the planting plan. |
Maintenance |
Our sister company, Brown’s Landscaping, offers
regular and one-off garden maintenance and small-scale
construction. |
